Desmond (Des) Haley Managing Director 

Des undertook a Building Services mechanical and electrical apprenticeship with Southern Mechanical Services in Farnham in the 1980’s. As his career progressed, he moved on to work as a senior Engineer for Honeywell Control systems in Bracknell. Des over saw Honeywell’s first Facilities Management contract in the United Kingdom while working with FM Squared and the Digital Corporation at DEC Park in Reading. After ten years’ service, Des finished working for Honeywell on an FM contract to Kuwait Petroleum in Staines, Middlesex. 
 
While at Honeywell Des was given the opportunity to serve in Britain’s reserved armed forces as a specialist engineer in the Royal Engineers. Complimenting his civil building Services work, Des worked in an STRE team responsible for looking after the British Military estate all over the world. After reaching 55 years old, Des retired from this position having finally completed 30 years’ service. 
 
Once his ten-year service with Honeywell controls finished and after travelling in North America, Des started D.A.G Services Ltd in 2000. The company has now been running for over 20 years and has built up a large clientele specialising in Building Services and FM contracts throughout London and the South East. 
 
Des is married to Fabienne, a French lady he met in London, they have a young son, and a second home in Normandy. 

Mike Pennington Operations Manager 

Mike joined the Company in June 2010 as a Technical Assistant and progressed to his current position obtaining NVQ Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships in Customer Service and Management early in his career. His duties include the day-to-day successful running of the operations for the Company. Before this role he had Customer Service and Account Management jobs, so client satisfaction has always been of paramount importance to him. Outside of work, his main hobby is football, but he enjoys many outside activities and sports – he is a regular tennis and badminton player and likes to get out for a walk each day and a cycle ride whenever he can. 

Ian Colpus Head of Business Development 

Ian’s background has always been in business development related roles, including as director of a company installing carpets & soft furnishings to new homes, being part of the ground-breaking commercial team at Thomas Sanderson, Regional Manager for Luxaflex or working with the franchises of a flood & fire restoration business. He is known as a strong team player and builder that leads in an inclusive way, with a philosophy that strong teams are the bedrock of success. Ian has been a neighbour of Des’s for over 30 years but it was during lockdown in 2020 that got them talking business. The result was that Ian joined the team to help Des to achieve his goals in the next 5-10 years. 
 
In his spare time Ian is an avid piano player having trained to Grade 7 & played in bands in his youth. Sundays will find him playing for 2 or 3 hours with a suitable bottle of red as lubrication for the fingers. In the lockdown, he recorded music for friends including one friend’s wedding reception. He is also an accomplished photographer and a fanatical car enthusiast. BTCC is his preferred motorsport but he also loves visits to Goodwood plus driving exotica at Thruxton when he can. He also enjoys finding the real culture in places on holiday, with Europe & the Caribbean being favourites. Ian has been married to Sarah for 37 years and they have two grown up youngsters, his daughter, also a car fanatic, works for the biggest car auction group and his son works for a major building society.
